About Us
Cantina Gia is your classic neighbourhood family restaurant offering comfort Italian food with wine shop in the Glebe in the heart of Ottawa.
A passion for flavour and family.
Co-owners Chef Adam Vettorel and Chris Schlesak met almost 20 years ago. After starting their first fine dining experience with North & Navy in 2015, which focuses on the flavours and experiences of Italy's northern and seaside regions, the two realized there was an opportunity to create something that would broaden the Italian experience to the bold and warm flavours and textures of the south.
From offering pastas and open flame cooked meats, to the crisp garden flavours reminiscent of the sunlit hills of Tuscany. Cantina Gia was born.
Cantina Gia is more than a restaurant, it's also a place to collect curated grocery items like quality oils, preserves, pastries, and of course drinks and wines that pair perfectly with a meal in house, or at home.
